Overview

Kok-Tobe is one of the symbols of the city of Almaty and all of Kazakhstan, located on the peak of Kok-Tobe mountain at an altitude of 1,160 meters above sea level, a 5-minute drive from the city center. The unique complex with restaurants and cafes, cozy alleys and unique nature has become the most striking attraction of the city of Almaty, where many people admire the city from a bird’s eye view.

Itinerary

The starting point is the station, which is located near the square Abaya which is located at the intersection of Dostyk and Abaya avenues, which is a landmark of Almaty, is named in honor of the great Kazakh poet and educator Abay (Ibrahim) Kunanbayeva. The length of the road is 1727 meters, and the travel time is 6 minutes.

A monument to the rock band "the Beatles" Almaty was built in 2007 by sculptor Eduard Ghazaryan. The sculpture is a bench with a figure of John Lennon sitting on it with a guitar and figures of three legendary "Beatles" standing behind it - Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr. For an interesting pastime on the territory there are attractions, contact Park, Exotarium, climbing wall, mini-zoo and souvenir shops.

There are also several viewing platforms that offer a great view of Almaty and the snowy peaks of the Trans Ili Alatau range. At the end of the walk along Kok-Tobe, you can go to the fountain-monument "Alma" in the form of an Apple, the symbol of Almaty, and throw a coin into it after making a wish.
