On the one hand, the Old square is bounded by the building of KBTU (Kazakh-British technical University), on the other hand, it is adjoined by a picturesque Central square with a monument to Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova.

Then driving through Central streets of the city you will get see also such culturally distinctive objects of the southern capital as: the building of the Republican academic Russian drama theatre M.Lermontov, National library of Kazakhstan, the sport complex consisting of a sports Palace and Central stadium, Kazakh Circus, Kazakh academic drama theatre named after M. Auezov, theatre of Opera and ballet of Abay, as well as acquaintance with the “new” part of the city.
