The museum was established in 1995. The collection of the ECO-Museum contains a huge number of exhibits collected throughout Kazakhstan. Among them, there are even fragments of aircraft and missiles, industrial and military equipment of Soviet and post-Soviet times.
The museum’s exposition tells a lot of interesting things about the country’s minerals, the stages of their extraction and processing, and points to the problems of the Baikonur cosmodrome associated with the fall of rockets.
The museum provides extensive coverage of the history of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, the tests that took place there, and how they still affect the environment.
