The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Uralsk holds a special place in the Ural and Aktobe diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Constructed between 1891 and 1907, this magnificent church stands as a tribute to the 300th anniversary of the Ural Cossack Army of Russia’s service. Notably, in October 1995, a sizable bell named Svyatoslav was installed, thanks to the generosity of entrepreneur Valery Surkov.
Locals affectionately refer to this cathedral as the “Golden” Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, underscoring its significance and splendor within the community.
