Shymkent boasts a unique and enduring monument that has witnessed the passage of generations of its residents. In fact, the city itself seems to have organically grown around this remarkable landmark. According to one of the enduring legends, a tribe in search of sanctuary from war embarked on a lengthy and arduous journey, fraught with trials and tribulations.
After enduring the vast expanse of a desert and suffering from thirst, they stumbled upon an oasis, a sanctuary of sorts. The tribe decided to settle in this newfound haven, and as time passed, the oasis flourished. The spring that once provided them relief gradually grew, and with each passing year, it swelled. Soon, additional springs emerged from the earth, eventually converging into a single, mighty river.
