The Kyzyl Zhar Mosque, situated in the heart of Petropavlovsk, serves as the city’s central mosque. Its name, derived from the Kazakh language, translates to “Red Yar.” This three-story mosque boasts a unique architectural design, with a base resembling an eight-pointed star.
The main structure is crowned with a grand dome, standing at a height of 28 meters, while four smaller hemispherical domes of vivid blue color further adorn the building.
Two towering minarets, each reaching a height of 42 meters, grace the mosque’s exterior. Inside, the mosque can comfortably accommodate up to 1,000 worshipers, making it a significant spiritual and architectural landmark in the city.
