The State Museum of Art. Abylkhan Kasteev. In 1976, on the basis of the collection of the Kazakh State Art Gallery named after T. G. Shevchenko and the Republican Museum of Applied Arts, the Museum of Art was established.
In January 1984, the museum was named after the People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Abylkhan Kasteyev. The permanent exhibition of the museum is built on the principle of historical chronology and allows you to trace the main stages of the development of world art by the example of exhibits that reflect the diversity and richness of the culture of each nation.
The museum has a Small Academy of Arts. The museum exhibits the works of young artists and sculptors of Kazakhstan.
